I have been creating modern, vibrant art since 1993. I am influenced by many artists, including Peter Max, Kenny Scharf, Andy Warhol and Robert Williams. I am a great fan of pop art. I also enjoy cartoon characters of the late 1960s and early 1970s, including Underdog, the cereal character Quisp and Rat Fink. I believe that humour can be displayed in art.
I began my artistic exploration using markers and chalk. I ldeveloped a great love for colored pencils because of the amazing details they are able to bring.
In the mid 1990s I began to paint using acrylic and moved into using oil paints. I try not to reproduce famous characters, but instead, create my own. My paintings became larger.
I have produced abstract works, pop art and minimalist pieces. I am self taught and have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with an emphasis on Creative Writing.
In 2006 I produced a triptych for Salt Lake Community Collage titled The Floating World.
I have sold many original paintings over the years.
I took a long time off from creating and went back to school and became a Registered Nurse. I started a family. I quit drinking.
In 2021 I began my artistic career anew with new fire and a sense of urgency. I displayed my work at the Millcreek Arts Festival in 2022 and 2023.
I did a solo exhibit at the Millcreek Library in 2022. I am very excited for what the future holds.
